Tribal Identity -Mixedblood-Royal Bloodlines-Mohegan Grandmother and Mother Their right to exist!!!

Growing up my mother always said we came from Royal bloodlines of the native Americans. I always knew I had Native American blood. But Royal bloodlines? I said sure Mother sure. Now I’m eating my words. I look back on the days growing up. Coming pass the Onondaga Nation in Upstate New York. There was armed State Troopers on one side of the Road and on the other side Native American with guns. It was a stand off. Try to keep the white man off their lands my mother told me. She told me they stole our ancestors lands daughter. What a sight to behold I thought. Native American stuff just kept popping up in my life . Pictures ,things and people.Everything I collected Native American had a Wolf on it or a fox. With the death of My mother. We started researching our native roots. Lo and behold there pops up my ancestors. True Royal bloodline of the Mohegan and Pequot . My Grandfather’s were Great Sachems. Mohegans were called the Wolf people. My grandfather was called the Fox. There are those wolves and foxes again. I still can’t get over the synchronicity of it all. My Mohegan Grandmother and My Mother’s Identity has a right to exist. The Mohegans says our royal bloodline is Extinct!!! Guess again. Then my whole family does not exist. There is discrepancy to some who my Grandmother is to the Mohegans and the Government. I assume. Well I’m a living, breathing Royal bloodline family member. I need not to mention their names. They know who the Royal family descends. I will not let anyone erase My Grandmother’s and My Mother’s right to exist. I dedicate my search to both my Grandmother and My Mother. If the Creator did not want me to Exist , I would not have been born. My family is the key to my grandmother’s existence. When my DNA results come back and it is scientifically proven I’m positive of my Native American blood. There will be no doubt who my Grandfather’s wife was or my Garndfather’s. Because I’m only related to Native Americans by my Mother’s side of the family. Thank you the 21st Century for DNA testing. I do not need percentage of blood. My DNA will prove my Grandmother’s and Mother’s right to Exist. AHO

  • Hello and thank you for posting. I, too, have always been raised with many discussion of our Mohegan family history, yet I have had trouble figuring out how to verify this lineage for my own children. Could you recommend any ways to trace the lineage or provide information about the best choices for DNA testing? Thank you.
